Fabienne Kootstra

My name is Fabienne Kootstra. As a child I did not feel safe to express my inner world. I loved to be around the horses that were in a meadow further along the street where I lived. When I was with the horses, time stood still and I felt at peace.

Growing up, I achieved good grades in all subjects. As the most successful girl in class, I mostly lived inside my head. Econometrics, the study I chose, I chose from the head, not from the heart. After finishing it and working in the field for a couple of years, I decided to change career to do something that made my heart beat faster. In the following years I worked as a real estate agent. I was impressed that people often told me their life stories and shared very personal information. Psychological subjects had always intrigued me. So, at the same time I started studying psychology.

After diving into psychology and coaching, I discovered the power of horses in coaching. Being stunned myself by experiencing it, there was a strong will in me to specialize in equine assisted coaching. By doing so, I returned to what I loved before, as a child.

At the same time I began a process of transformation. I had guided myself back from my head to my heart and senses. I wish for everyone to experience a journey like that. Soon after that, I opened my own company. I am happy and grateful to be doing this beautiful work and for the value I can bring to people’s lives in the meanwhile already for more than 10 years.
